Hey parents,
Have you run out of ideas on how to keep your family sane and calm and make everyone get along and act like they love each other? Well I'm sure you're doing great! I have much respect for you. And I decided to do a bit of research to come up with a few ideas that you may not have tried yet. Here's what I got:
1) Invent a game/sport.
(Or challenge your kids to invent a game/sport.) I have 4 siblings and some of my favourite memories as a kid involve inventing new games together, like The Hitting Game, The Throw-up Game, and The Stealing Game (in hindsight they all have very uncreative names and also they sound just plain terrible but they really are wholesome fun - I promise!).
2) Play Board Games.
I LOVE board games! You probably own some but if you're looking for a new one to try, here are some great options - click the title to see the game on Amazon.

3) Go on a walk together. Sometimes fresh air goes a long way.
4) Have a slumber party.
Living room, master bedroom, kitchen - wherever you want - fill up the room with blankets and pillows and see what happens!
5) Play Jackbox games.
These are very interactive games and compatible with basically any device I think. There's also a family setting to ensure it's safe for all ages! If you want to try it before you buy it, a game called Drawful happens to be free right now so check that one out.
6) Re-enact this video.
If you don't have Oreos, get creative. And be sure to email or text the video to me (204.981.0101, darryljanzen@oasischurch.ca) because I really love watching anything competitive! Or you can post it online and tag @collide_oasis.
I have a few more ideas but I don't want this to feel like yet another task list for you. If you want, maybe I can share the rest in a future post...
Praying for y'all!
-Darryl
